“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
– Matthew 11:28
Hey Mama,
If you’re reading this through tired eyes and with a heart that feels heavy, know this: You are not alone! That pile of laundry threatening to take over the house, the dishes in the sink that keep spontaneously appearing, the midnight cries that know one sees, the emotional rollercoaster of it all—yep, I’ve been there; I think every mom has. But do you want to know what I always find comfort in during seasons of overwhelm and weariness? It’s that God sees it all. And more importantly, He sees you and me.
Motherhood is beautiful, but it can also be brutally hard. You pour out every ounce of yourself—body, mind, and spirit—for your children, and some days it feels like there’s nothing left to give. You wonder if anyone notices, if what you’re doing matters. You may even wonder if you’re enough.
But here’s what is actually true: You are not forgotten. You are not failing. And everything you’re doing matters. Now let’s take a quick look at 4 truths from the Word of God to validate those facts and to encourage you.
God’s Strength is Made Perfect in Your Weakness
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” The world tells us we have to be strong all the time, but God invites us to be real—to come to Him in our weakness. That’s where His strength shines the brightest.
When you feel like you can’t take another step, His grace carries you. When you feel like you’re running on empty, He is your unending supply.
You Are Doing Holy Work
Galatians 6:9 encourages us: “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
Changing diapers, calming tantrums, teaching lessons, praying over little hearts—this is kingdom work. It might not look glamorous, but it is sacred. The seeds you plant today in your children’s lives will grow in ways you may not see right now. Your faithfulness in the small things matters greatly to God.
Rest is Not a Luxury—It’s a Gift
In Psalm 23, we read: “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.”
God doesn’t demand your hustle—He invites you to rest. Maybe rest looks like a short nap while the baby naps, a quiet moment with a cup of tea, or five minutes in the Word before your day begins. Take what you can, and trust that even small moments of surrender are enough for Him to refresh your soul.
God Often Uses Others to Lift Us When We’re Down
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 reminds us: “Two are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.”
You weren’t meant to do this alone. Whether it’s asking a friend for help, letting your spouse take over for a bit, or simply opening up to someone about how you’re really doing—there is no shame in wanting support. It’s not weakness; it’s wisdom.
A Final Word of Encouragement
Mama, take heart. You are not behind. You are not less-than You are not invisible. God is with you in every sleepless night, every whispered prayer, every weary moment. He is your strength, your sustainer, and your closest friend.
So today, breathe deeply. Lift your eyes. Receive His grace.
And know this: You are doing better than you think. And God delights in you.
With love and hope,
